PTA

Welcome to Oaklands Primary School Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) or, as we fondly refer to it, the Playtime and Togetherness Association.

This section of the school website provides information on the PTA, what we do and how to become involved.

Current Parents

As a parent at Oaklands, you're automatically a valued member of our PTA.

The day-to-day running of the PTA is in the hands of our Executive Committee, who are elected each year at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in the Autumn Term. 

We warmly welcome all new parents and encourage participation – however great or small.  Getting involved with the PTA is a great way to meet other parents and to get to know Oaklands better, as well as to make a valuable contribution to your child’s future.

Each year group has one or more Class Representatives (Reps). This person helps to gather and share relevant PTA information via the class WhatsApp group. Where possible, the Class Reps attend the PTA meetings.

Potential Parents

You can find out a lot about a school by getting to know the school community. We think our school is the best, and we also like to think that our Playtime and Togetherness Association is making a difference in the education and wellbeing of our children.

Funds

Your support helps us provide 'extras' that enrich the Oaklands experience. This has included:

  • Google Chromebook Flips for enhanced IT learning
  • A forest school gazebo and firepit for outdoor education
  • The trim trail in the bottom playground for active playtimes
  • Coaches for school trips
  • Wellbeing and mindfulness theatre activities
  • Extra-curricular school trips, excursions and experiences

We are currently working to raise funds to create ‘Oaklands Beach’ - an innovative outdoor play and learning space.

Events

Join us for a fun-filled calendar of events that the PTA organise and help out at throughout the school year including:

  • Nearly new school uniform and costume sales 
  • Halloween discos
  • Christmas fair
  • Summer family fun day
  • Non-uniform days
  • Sports events refreshments
  • AGM
