Oaklands is an outward looking, aspirational one-form entry primary school in Hertfordshire.  The school provides a caring, positive, challenging and stimulating curriculum that encourages all children to grow as individuals and to aspire to be the best that they can be.

We aim to inspire every child, regardless of any barriers to learning, to engage in the learning journey. We are highly inclusive in our approach (but are always looking for further ways to improve). We teach children to make brave decisions, self-regulate and to have high aspirations for their future impact on the world.

Our knowledge and skill-rich curriculum is clearly sequenced and highly engaging.  By teaching a broad and balanced curriculum we hope to equip pupils with the skills to be lifelong learners and influencers of positive change.

We all know how quickly children grow up and at Oaklands we strive to ensure that their time with us is full of awe, wonder and inspiration, remembering that whilst it is our responsibility to prepare them for the future, they are still children today.

School Tours

Situated just 10 minutes' drive from Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage and many of the surrounding villages, Oaklands offers extensive wrap-around care for all pupils from 7:45am - 6:00pm delivered by school staff.  

We are delighted to welcome prospective parents for a tour in person.  You will be taken around the school by the Head and Deputy Head Teacher, visit every classroom and all the school grounds. You will see children in their lessons and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about life at Oaklands.
